40's ford wheels question

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 1oldtimer, May 27, 2009.

  1. trying to id some wheels that where said to be off of a '40 ford. they look the same as all the others i have except they have NO bumps for the hubcaps  (or holes for clips). what are these, they have 215 radials on there and i can't see any stampings. could they be early aftermarket ?, the wheel vintiques version has a flat center hole but the stock has a bent in lip and so does this. i didn't have my carmera with me so no pics.....sorry.

Hard to tell without a photo, but if the wheel has the early Ford 5 lug 51/2 bolt pattern, could be Jeep or International Harvester. If their are bumps on the ouside edge of the center, could be '49 Merc. Just a guess, however

  3. they look just like the 40's ford wheel just without inner bumps.
