Lets see your headlight mounts. I'm looking for ideas for my fenderless 28 Model A pickup. I have a set of F-100 shock mounts on it now that I was thinking of welding some cups on them for headlights also. BUT I also have a set of friction shocks I would like to run instead so I would need to build some seperate headlight mounts

  2. Here is the way I did mine.

here is how i did mine, i had the bar to them so i just cut it off at both ends close to the mounting bowl. welded the ends pointing down so they can now mount to the frame rather than the fenders. i had to do a little heating and bending but fit good and still have a bar going across to mount a 32 v8 logo to.

Did mine very similar to Trad27's. One mistake I made was putting the rear bolt hole through the crossmember. With the spring and everything installed, that is a very small space to get even a box-end wrench. The above position looks much easier.

Make sure you have your shocks mocked up. I also ran into headlight interference issues.

Here are a couple of shots of my set up. I took an "A" HL bar and cut the ends off. Then I welded two hollow tubes to the feet and that to the the bar. The wires go thru the tubes and come out inside the frame horn.

Made from 30/31 fender braces and an old A tie rod.

A buddy used a couple flathead rods, cut down to fit and they look way cool.

Actually all of them have merit. I like each one and see the only hard part would be to choose just one--Ideas and sharing makes HAMBERS top's
