Needing pics of cages with bars down to the frame, not body. Trying to decide if it would be best to kick the bottom of the main hoop in to meet the frame or some sort of extentions off of the frame???. And also, it's pretty tight between the door and bench seat so I would like to see examples of side bars as well.

Do you know where Crushproof is? My '55 is there and Lux built outriggers off the frame to mount the hoop. I'm using race buckets, but you can also see what he did with the door bars. Pm him here to figure a time to go look.

Yeah I do. Unfortunately I am not in ATX anymore. I guess I need to change my location. I was thinking outriggers would be a good idea, but wonder if this would be as strong as putting the hoop straight on top of the frame.

I'll see if I can dig up some pics. I'm at work, so I can't get to them now.

Sorry no pix of mine in the 57 but it came from S&W Race Cars (Mennonite church Rd somewhere in PA. pm me if you can't find it) and has the main hoop angled in slightly to catch the frame. Then also a pair of extra bars to catch a set of frame outriggers that I added.I really like how the main hoop lands right on top of the frame, don't know if others are like that or not..

That is a good idea too, just do both. Kind of like an "8" point on a unibody car.

Hotroddon, sitting in the car, about how high is your sidebar on your 55? Is it above the elbow?

Thanks guys. Keep em comin, the more the better. If anyone has any good pics of sidebars around benches and any pics down to the frame that would be good.

The bars need to hit between your elbows and shoulders, per the NHRA rulebook.
