I'm continually amazed at how far and wide Hamb membership is. I took the missus to a local open-house style party my buddy, Jimmy throws every year. I drove my old 41 pontiac and we all did the usual stuff.....ate a potluck dinner furnished by all the attendees with BBQ'd pork as the main dish. After we all stood in a line to dish up, sat and talked with our missus' while we ate, the guys began standing in little groups to shoot the ****. That's when it hit me. All the guys I was standing and talking to were current or past HAMB members..............IN COUNCIL BLUFFS IOWA fer Christsakes.
I was standing with "Tic Toc", who hasn't posted in awhile but will again when he gets his recent move all finished and there was Binder, who owns the shop and of course there was CarKiller.
Rocket Man was there too. He quit posting when he and his girlfriend broke up and she moved out, taking her computer with her. He rode to the party on his big yellow Harley but I ragged his *** until he rode it home [in Omaha] to bring back his old-school chopped 30 Model A hiboy with a 303 olds, dual quads and all early ford v/8 drivetrain. My presence made it 5 Hambers and we were wondering why FlyinJ1 hadn't rumbled in with his 34 Chevy tub....or why 32 hiboy hadn't shown with his deuce 5 window...
    Cool party. HAMBers rule.

Oh BTW...I'd love to have gotten a photo of Jimmy's uncles' deuce roadster in attendance...a real steel 32 roadster he bought back in '56 and rubbed on it since then. It sports an ardun conversion on a 59 AB. It's bright red with 4 webbers and a Muncie 4 speed.. has Illinoise plates that say ARDUN....

Yep, it is amazing the the "HAMBer's" that you meet around the ole' USA. I have met a handful in the last two years at car shows that come up to me and say that they are "lurkers" and it is kinda funny that some stranger is chatting with me about three times my age but with the same intrest's.

Hey Rocky, sounds like a good time. I was up in Woodbine on Saturday at the Applefest car show and met up with some people I knew there. Got some cool pics that I will post later when the girlfriend gets home. Forgot my camera in her car. I was standing talking to a kid I graduated with and said something about the HAMB and a guy turns around and says he lurks here all the time, but doesn't post because he doesn't have anything traditional enough.
