Cruising returns to Van Nuys Blvd

Harness? You don't need no stinkin harness. The wires don't know what voltage you're running. Put a 12 volt generator, regulator and battery change the light bulbs and you're done. You don't need to change a harness. You could also get a 12 volt starter, but the 6 volt unit will sing on 12 volts.

 

Yes, leave the 6V starter. It'll be fine. Also, the 6V wiring is HEAVIER than 12V stuff and will be no problem unless it's damaged

 

Just remember to disconnect the gauges or put a Runtz on them or you'll fry them.

 

thnx for the help... but all of my wiring is pretty damaged... ALL of it... theres frikkin electrical tape over almost all of it... i dont think its safe anymore... if i could get all that stuff could someone help me out with it?

 

Talked to a friend of mine who is pretty well versed in early Fords with generators. he agreed it is most likely the generator and said to replace the regulator as well.......

 

yea, well im thinking of just switching to 12v and putting an alternator in it.

only other problem is... IVE NEVER DONE ANY OF THIS BEFORE

 

I've seen that flyer at more than one place, and I've also seen another flyer that was well done and looked professional, so my guess it's legit. So there. maybe the cheesey flyer was just to get the name out there before they got the good flyer done. When I find a copy of the other flyer I saw, I'll post it asap.

 

The count down begins......2 weeks from tonight, Van Nuys Blvd becomes "The Boulevard" once more....

 

So we're seeing two dates here...the 10th seems too close and I have not seen a flyer for it while I've seen two for the other date (the 18th of july) I guess it can't hurt to do both, but I've seen noting about the 10th except here on this board..I can't imagine it being much of a turn out will so little promotion. I'd like to show up however and see how things play out.

 

Actually there has been quite a large response to the June 10th cruise...Flyers have gone out at quite a few venues as well.....

I did like 3 weeks ago... But i havent been able to get out there these last few weeks... And im working til midnight tomorrow.... Feel free to print out the flyer and pass em out if you can.

I don't know how to print, and I won't be at Bob's this Friday. You guys that started this thing are really slacking

 

It's almost getting to be the "too little-too late" syndrome. If someone got the flyers to me a while ago, I would've been happy to hand them out at Bob's. But, other things have kept me from Bob's lately (Santa Maria, BTTB). So, as far as "ball's in my court"? I don't have a court. And, I'm a mechanic, I don't print
