I know this is not what you wanted to hear, but he is right. I have seen complete 392s go for $800-$2000 for a good rebuild able motor. I have also seen guys pay as much as $4000 for a piece of ****. You just have to test the waters. Put it on Ebay and see.:)

What's the use code in front of the valley cover? Is it a 354 or 331? Short tail or long if it's a 331?

I've got an Industrial 331 with a bolt on extended bell, it spent it's whole life running a welder. They are practically bulletproof. I wouldn't sell mine for a grand, wouldn't pay more than a hundred or two to buy one.
The correct answer remains, it's worth what you can get someone to part with for it.

Just like property in the good ol USA ......

They ain't making any more of it

  10. There are no numbers on the valley on an industrial. There will be a tag behind the driver side head on the bellhousing mount. It is highly likely that it is a 331. The only 354 industrial was a 56A, so far as I know. Any other numbers will be a 331.

If you wanna know what its worth, check ebay.

Those valve covers are pretty cool that they say Industrial instead of Fire Power.

From what I have seen and read here you never really know if it's a 331 or a 354 by the tag. They were a m***ed produced engine. Only way to really tell is to measure the bore.

It runs, it it's mounted to a water pump that was used by a local fire dept. I rwally cant see the numbers right now, i'll start pulling it out today, I can see it doesnt have a built in bell housing. I'd like to find a different intake for it, the 2 barrel on the motor has a govenor.

When you take the intake off check the under carb p***age. Some are square & some are tall & narrow. The car intake won't cover tall & narrow. They either have to be welede @ the top or use block off spacers, also Hot Heads sells a 4 bl intake that covers it.

354 car block, where it has that code it may be a complete car engine that someone dropped in.
