Hi, brand new to the site. Hoping to learn as I go. I'm presently armpit deep into a 1937 Dodge 1/2 ton pickup rebuild. I'm planning on powering it with a '54 241" Red Ram Hemi. Will more than likely be seeking advice, as this is the first time doing soething like this. Thanks in advance, Greg.
hey greg. welcome. do you already have the red ram? throw up some photos if ya got em. my uncles building one now for his 37 ford pu.
Yes I do have it, a guy gave it to me for free. I expressed interest in having a hemi, he said he had one... gave it to me to get the car out of his way. So then ya just gotta find something to stick it in, right. Thats when I stumbled on the '37 Dodge pickup. Trouble is, the motor sat so long it was stuck. I have the truck and the Hemi apart right now. Just now starting to look into a machine shop with experience with the old Hemi's. Sorry I don't have any digital photos of it. Is your uncles the 241 or 270 super red ram? I was kinda leaning to rebuilding the original flathead six, and doing some cool multi carb, split exhaust stuff, but that little hemi sure is hard to beat for looks and cool factor.
Welcome, Greg; nice score on the hemi! That will be a great combo. Have seen a couple of others on this board. Also check into the Hemi Club for lots of info. and hard-to-find parts! Robb
