Well starting saturday I drove the 46 all over town and Sunday drove the roadster out on the hiway and put a 100 or so miles on the new motor and running gear and also found time to watch the NASCAR Dover race. Now thats a successfull weekend for me!

Set up my like brand new (!) 1941 South Bend lathe that I picked up a couple of weeks ago. I am pretty sure that it has not been run in at least 20 years.

Oiled it everywhere, wiped a layer of grime of the still nicely scratched ways and gave everything a grease. Then made a few chips just for good measure.

The lathe is a benchtop and came on a wooden drawered cabinet - all tooled up!

Also pulled the driveshaft out of my OT musclecar and determined that it is likely out of balance due to the weld globs on one end and about 2 inches too short.

Painted my M/C bracket i altered and then cleaned my bar-b-q grill for a cook out. Used it last weekend and it kept catching fire. To much grease built up in the bottom.

Picked up a '72 Chevy 12 bolt to stick under my friends '63. Gutted, steam cleaned, hot tanked it and a 350/TH350 to use for mockup. Got a new cluster for my daily - couldn't stand driving a stick without a tachometer.

Took my 10 year old racing today. Finally got some consitancy out of his car. Made it down to the last 5 cars out of 23 before he red lit in the 1/4 finals. Saturday he pitched one inning in his little league game and had 2 strike outs. good weekend in my book even though I got no work done on my project.

Figured out why my '55 Dodge died, the rod that's attached to the fuel pump diaphragm broke off at the top. Ordered a new one, but not real confident that AutoZone is going to be able to provide the right pump. I checked everywhere and they were the only place that offers one.
It's June tomorrow, I thought I'd have 2 months of driving in on that car already, I maybe put 100 miles on it so far. It's killing me, why can't the shit just work?

Saturday I experienced a miracle. I needed a new starter relay for my F100. I called NAPA and they said they had it, went there and they actually had it and it was made in the USA. Unbelievable! Truck still won't start.

Mocked up my frame and actually started a post about it here on the HAMB. Here is a little cardboard mock up of the X- member and the front engine mount. I'm thinking about doing the mount up Bass style with some holes and stiffeners.

I started cleaning up the dash on the rambler. I got the glove box door down to bare metal and primered. The gauge cluster was a bear to pull with out destroying.

Fired up the Merc for the first time since December and drove it down to my neighbor's for rewiring. Got about half done wiring it. Went to parts store, refrained from attacking guy behind counter, put a belt on a friend's car, did a bunch of housework, slept and ate a lot.

My 97 was on display at a car wash grand opening so I took the time to clean up the garage. I can actually see my work benches now.

Helped a buddy who's wheelchair bound from surgery work on his 32 today.

Welded in engine mounts, installed tranny mount, installed engine & tranny, installed radiator & shell, wired up motor (except alternator), installed driveshaft, intalled headers, hooked up column to vega box.

About 2 hours tomorrow night & we fire it up.
