Early Chevy Engine ID

    I have 4 early Chevy blocks that I picked up for about s**** value. The numbers are
    1 and 3. 346709
    2. 348532
    4. 344624
    Also have a head with the numbers
    344128
    Looking for year of manufacture. Also, is anyone out there into this sorta thing like they are the T and A motors?

    You didn't tell us if 4 or 6 cylinder - none of these #s are in the '29-'36 6 cyl. parts manual.

  5. Yeah, Kisam is ac***ulating the parts to put a '27 together(in between other projects), but it won't have any speed parts.

    It is a 2 port exhuast. I have another head that I gotta clean up so I can read numbers to identify

    The 2 port exhaust heads started in '28 and they breath a lot better than earlier ones. Like Lee said I am putting together a 27 engine and putting a 28 head on it. I have even heard of a 28 Chevy head on a Ford 4 banger? Don't s**** the stuff. There is a market for it at the Vintage Chevy Club website.

    344128 and two ports? According to Hayward & Kaufmann it should be a 1924-26 single port.
