anyone know what kind of car this is

this came in for junk at my work and i was just curious what it was and why there was a turbo(or atleast thats what it looks like) mounted in the trunk.thanks

Looks like a Lincoln...maybe they were using the turbo as a 'blower'...sorta like a blower on an A/C unit...think...???

looks like a McCulloch centrifugal supercharger, and damned if i know why it's mounted in the trunk, unless it's just jammed in there real tight. damn shame to see a Connie in that bad of shape.

 

damn you guys are good.i would have never thought it was a lincoln,but thanks.there was nothing left of the car besides the hood,the turbo wich i kept i thought it was kina neat and a sun tach transmitter on the inside of the firewall everything else was gone or rotted to nothing.

 

it says schwitzer ***mings co on the turbo.it was actually connected to the exhaustor what was left of it.

 

I see stuff I would have kept. No one repops parts for those, so if you have nothing, sometimes you gotta take what you can find and fix that.

 

Any '41 Lincoln has value. And I'm not familiar with the name you gave us, but I think your turbo might be a blower and a rare one. Congrats on hitting the jackpot!

Schwitzer is a German turbo manufacturer.sounds like it might have been a ***mins diesel turbo.Probably not useable with a gas engine.I agree with the ***essment that there appears to be a lot of salvageable parts on the Lincoln;at least to someone who is restoring a Continental.

 

I would have a hard time not hauling that to my house, my neighbors would love that sitting in the back yard.

 

Whether or not it's savable or not (it's not) I still see a significant amount of $ sitting there in the form of parts....hope it hasnt already been run through the chipper

 

find the seams and sawzall it down to basic panels. cut to the bad side and keep it neat, then it won't be so much a hulk as a stack of sheet metal sheets. guys building A's and such have started with less than that.
polish that old ****er/blower up and mount it on a plaque.... garage art!

Shoulda put it aside for a day and asked questions before sending it to its demise. Might have made a few bucks off that one!!!

Wonder what the story was for a car like that to have a hidden turbo and a tach transmitter?????
