I think it looks great!! Especially the bumpers, they really tie the headlights in. But I gotta be honest Bobby, you can do better on the grill. I know you can... :D

Hey Murph!! Yeah, I've made decent progress, gonna be sanding all day tomorrow, then start working on the bumpers..Thanks again for everything ..Bob

  4. I think the bumpers really anchor the visual width of the canted lights...just stepped into the deeply radical there...and I'm loving it...

Ya got my vote! lloks great.

  7. Looks very cool, I think you could do something more unique and edgy for the grille though. I think that grille is more late 50's and your front and rear mods are more 60's.

    some more progress...

I started installing the bumpers. First order of business however was to shorten them 5" on the wheel opening side.

I cut out and welded on the 55 pontiac bumper pan portion and now I have to fabricate the rest, I started that by making the upper pan that extends to the wheel opening..

I was going to finish the fabricating and welding on the driver side before I posted this, but I decided to stop for the day and figured I'd post this..haha....

Nads, sorry to disappoint you, BUT, the spotlights stay...I love spots on kustoms..they were only off because I was molding the upper fender seam...

    Looks damn good!

Ties in with the taillights, frames out the side profile perfectly!

Killer but I'm not digging the grill, reminds me of a girl I'd take out in high school , she only had 3 teeth too.

That's not a bad thing as long as they're on the outer edges.

Honestly, I was first thinkin "Good lord, that car was just destroyed!", but didn't say anything, cause I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of such a comment.

Having seen the updates, I am now thinking you did an AMAZING job. You have a great eye, she looks phenomenal!

I love the canted Lincoln headlight doors and the rolled pan with the bumperettes, and I like the Desoto parking lights and the grille bar itself....but I have to agree with the rest of the guys that the 3 teeth are detracting from the rest of the frontend.

Something simpler or less bulky in the center would be nice, but of course that's just my opinion. I think it looks fantastic though as a whole, and I'm glad to see someone with the balls to work outside the "box"! (bad 'shoebox' pun intended)

wow....I gotta say, I really feel like these two comments add lots of credibility to what I'm doing here, thanks alot guys..

As far as the grille, I was on the fence about it from the start, and I have another grille bar, so I wasn't worried about ruining it, but I've decided to go another way.. I won't spill the beans on it quite yet, but it's something that I've never seen done on a modern build, I've only seen it a couple times, both in the little pages, which is perfect because I want this car as authentic to 1960-61 as possible....
