my junkyard score today!!!

so I drove about an hour and a half today to go grab a set of 390 heads...and instead as I was pulling out the tools I saw a caddy engine sitting in front of a row of 55 coupes. I asked the owner if it was a 331 and he said yup it had just been brought in today....
the topper..................the engine and the tranny are completely rebuilt with only a couple hundred miles on them!!!!! he got it from an estate sale where some guy had rebuilt the engine and trans, broken it in and then taken them out to aint the car but he died before he got it all back together.

the tranny is for sale. he let me take it all home as a set but I promised to take the tranny off. honestly I may just pay him the extra and keep the tranny

thats badass. my local junk yard is full of chevy celebreties and corsicas. i get excited when i see something that even has 5 lug bolts.

its going in my 55 fleetwood..figure I will pull the engine I have in it and have a nice fresh 331 to play with...my hydromatic tranny is pretty solid though so I might not need this tranny

actually 49rat...that reminds me if anyone needs any caddy parts this guy has pretty much everything needed (except the 54-55 rear bumper ends) and his prices are right because he is trying to move it all.

if im not mistaken that is a hydromatic tranny..4 speed???? Id keep it!!!
