Its only about 250 miles from Sioux Falls. Ma, the kid,and I cruised down
Saturday am. Had to have breakfast at Golden Corrall in Soo City (love that bacon) and lunch at Raising Cane's in Lincoln (love those chicken strips)
    )see the trend here?)

We thought the car count was way down as well, but we are used to the
Back to the Fifties event, and it is major sensory overload with cars and
    vendors.

The events at the Lincoln State Fair Park in the past have drawn much better
big buck cars, (probably thinking the magazines would be there covering said). The show was ok, but not the best I've been to...

But the trip got the "fam damily" out of town and made stop complaining about me going to the drag races each weekend.

There were some memorable cars though.
The "extremely yellow" g***er really tripped my trigger, and that Road Runner was over the top (albeit O/T).

I also do not believe I've seen that many Starliners in one place ever before, either. I think we counted five total.

This car was really nice, as well.
    Cool color combination...nice details...

Jeff, I really need to get over to your place more! Your Coupe just keeps getting better and better!

I've posted videos of it running (with the new cam and freshened engine) before, and just gotta do it again------

Nice post, Nick - thanks for the coverage. The show was actually pretty decent. I don't think Hot Rod magazine has had anything to do with it for several years.

One thing worth mentioning is that this event marked what is probably the last hurrah for car shows at State Fair Park. The university now owns the property and will start re-developing soon - which means next year's Super Nationals may very well be at the Lancaster Events Center - a soulless plot of concrete with a few stark steel buildings and even fewer trees.

The Dave Dolman Merc wagon was actually featured in R&C a few months back - not Street Rodder. A very cool car with a ton of work in it.

Yeah, it's sad to see the State Fair Park go. It'll be interesting to see what happens to our car events/swap meets, that have been held at the fairgrounds for years, when they get moved to the new Lancaster Events Center.

Here's the Dolman Merc Wagon article (thanks for pointing out the correct magazine)

Great shots Nick. I knew Saturday would be a better day (weren't many cars on Friday), but the daughters graduation took precedence. Was good to see TJ and Lisa and have time to talk with them, (been too long) and to make it to Jeffs birthday party. Can everyone say "Happy 40th Jeff"........ Gary

Neat. I just love this car. The mods are so amazing yet "transparent" to the casual observer. Gary
