One Hot Hemi ! Firedome

    Ok, so I apologize if this has been posted numerous time already but after picking up this 54 Desoto Firedome last week I was digging around the web and found this photo so I saved it :)

    I'm not sure what i'm going to do with this Desoto yet?? It's mostly complete less the grill :(

    it would be so hard to just pull that motor out of that nice car. BUT I WOULD!!! got an A needing a HEMI!!

    Your in SLC and everybody knows Hemis belong on the salt. Worlds fastest DeSoto powered DeSoto sounds good to me.

    That is some nice vintage *** on that motor. Looks like she might be enjoying that just a little too much. Probably a little more horsepower than is necessary for the job, but what the hell, fire it up.

  11. You could always do the age old custom trick of putting a Mercury grille in a DeSoto.

    I was curious about where the shifter was? I think I saw a girl in a green Mitsu 3000 in the same position but I couldnt see the motor in that car.. lol

    Seriously, nice car, unique style, fairly rare, and hemi powered? What would any of us do? I would already have it half torn apart by the time you posted!

    What year Merc Grill you thinking? the 49 merc grill would look awseome!

    I have a couple extra 51 F1 grills I could put in there with some extra teeth but I dont think it would even be close to fitting or look good. :eek:

    from the little bit of research I have done it looks like the desoto's had a different grill every yr 53, 54, 55. ?? 54 & 55 being real similar ?

    does anyone know if the 55 Desoto grill will fit and look ok in the 54?
