Just like the ***le shows. I'm going to replace the front and rear springs on a 50 F-1. Want to lower it a bit (maybe 2") and hopefully improve the ride. Any Alliance members out there?

A local spring shop can match your springs if you take them in tell them what you want to do.
I pulled about two leaves out of the front and put 68 mustang car springs on the rear with some fabbed up perches I made. It rides damn good now.

You can get the front springs from JC Whitney. Cheaper than anyone else. I bought mine and they are made in USA. They have the rear ones too, but the price is not as good.

How do you like the Whitney ones. Do they look like they could p*** as stockers overall? Did all of the stock hardware work with them? I was thinking of buying a set from them for my '46 halfton -- they are the same springs as the F1. Do you remember which ones (part number) you bought, they sell 2 by different manufacturers?

I don't know the part #. I think they only had one, when I got mine. They were exactly like the original. Had new bushings already installed in the eyes. Everything worked perfectly. As I recall they were made by someone in PA.
    Good Luck.

I put MII in the front of a customer's 51 F1. We put stock rear springs in, took out 4 springs on each side and it seems to ride and sit just right. Little soft, but it rides like a car now. It dropped the rear about 3-4 inches we estimate. Bought the springs from the local suspension warehouse.

I've got springs from Posies in my 52 F1. They sell springs that go real low and sorta low. I bought the sorta low ones, you get about 1-2 inches lower. The fronts are two springs which is safer than a monoleaf and the rear is a regular pack of 9 leafs I think. Both sets have only one reversed eye on them.

Detroit-Eaton Spring. They'll have it in stock or make it. Great tech department.
