There is suppose to be a street rod show at the oaktree lodge in sevierville this weekend. I have never been to it and was wondering if any of you guys have been to this show or if you might be going???
It's the Silver Dollar Rod Run, right? If so it's an old event with an interesting history. I used to like to go to Cherokee when they held it there. I'll probably go just to have something to do because it's close. I don't know about getting that close to P. Forge in the middle of tourist season though.
Silver Dollar run is fun. We went 4 or 5 years ago and had a blast. You are close what will hurt to go?
Thanks for the info I didnt know what it was called......I am planning on attending. My wife checked on a room but the oaktree lodge was booked I guess we will just try to stay somewhere close.
If you can't find anything closer you could probably book a room at one of the many motels at the Strawberry Plains Pike exit off I-40. It's only a few minutes drive streight out I-40. There's also a new motel at the Sevierville exit that may be far enough away from the tourist area to have a room. Personally I'd just drive up early Saturday morning and then go home when the fun was all over. As I recall, it's not a huge show, (of course I've not been in a few years.) Is that your truck in your avatar? That's really a nice looking truck. I hope I can find a decent AD some day.
we are thinking about taking my son to splash country friday and then doing the show on saturday, thats why we were looking at rooms and i will tell her what you said about rooms off strawberry plains pike, they might be cheaper also. Yes that is my truck in the avatar, thats what i will be driving up. It says wade & son's service station around the texaco sign, so holler at me if you see me up there. Thanks again for the info
