Apologies to Frank Zappa for stealing his lyric, but will be in Montana, around ****e in early August, is there any car stuff going on to entertain me while out there for wife's family reunion? Will be out in the area first week of August, coming from Minnesota.

Scour Craigslist. Marvel at the cheap rust free cars and trucks. Then buy.

    Brian,

I'd guess you will be traveling through along I90.

Send me a PM when you know the dates and I may be able to get a few guys together at one of the local shops (depends what day of the week and what is going on)

You should plan on a walk through this place.

Thanks Scott, Freeman's looks like a MUST. As far as bringing MORE cars home, I think the wife would shoot me!! She's not happy with the eleven or so I already have!

    Brian,

Fair Warning........ DO NOT MENTION TO ANYONE AT FREEMAN'S THAT YOU ARE A HOTRODDER..... it is a sure way to get shown the door. These guys are hard core restoration nuts and the prices are astronomical, but its still a cool place to take a walk.

Not quite the way things work in Montana, right Scott? The local boys seem to have a pretty good handle on the whole antique car business.

Still a good place to buy a project, but ... you can forget finding that 3-window out sunning itself in a field.

Your wife's family reunion is in ****e and SHE complains about all your cars...hmm. j/k They usually have a weekly cruise in ****e on Weds nights in the summer, lots of nice cars in ****e. The West Yellowstone Rod run is the first weekend in August, a few hundred nice cars at that one.

I don't know about finding them "sunning in the field", this builder stopped by on his way out of town a few years ago.

Have a nice trip and thanks for the Zappa respect.

that guy has been my hero since the October 17, 1971 Mothers of Invention late show at Stony Brook University on LI.

Terry Cook is the only ******** celebrity car guy I'm aware of that is into Zappa pretty heavy. I'd be very interested in meeting or knowing about others.

I'm talking ********, not casual fans.

Dweezil is touring with Zappa Plays Zappa right now.

www.zappa.com for more info and dates.

With all this Zappa talk, I think it's time to ponder the significance of the ambient domain.

Not stictly a fan, but I've been aware of Z since his records were continually blasting in the art studio at college. Oddly enough, a huge picture of him in an Uncle Sam hat hit my desk yesterday, on a brochure flogging a new music reference set...and last year, my daughter found me a Frank Zappa squished penny! He is from Maryland, and this bizarre offering was in a squished-penny vending machine at Maryland House, a rest area on Route 95. All the other pennys were normal stuff...Lord's Prayer, "Welcome to Baltimore", etc.
Clearly, the ambient domain is going critical...put on your crash helmets!
