finally finished paint/striping on my olds, i know some people probabbly dont think its a cool car BUT we love it! id drive this car anywhere!! plus i have yet to see one like around here! semi gloss black, chevy orange scallops and 1/4 inch white pin striping around the scallops, it took about 260 feet of pin stripe to get the job done! what ya think?? this is what it looked like the day we brought it home and now
hahaha.. yeah its differant!!! we may have gone over board on the scallops ( our goal was to make the car look as long as possible) and at just under 18 feet of car i think its long enough! haha
thats what i thought to.. my buddy that laid out the scallops work/ part owner of classics plus here in fond du lac wi, i told him to do what ever he thinks will look good and ill spray it, and thats what he came up with BTW if ya dont like the paint job buy the car and paint it how you like it
Cool enough for a driver! I like the '65 Olds 88. My one brother drove a tire frying 2dr hardtop for years but eventually had to junk it because the frame was rotting BAD! Not many around anymore, they are cool 'cause they are different. Marty McF.
It's nice to see different.. i dig the ride.. as long as you like it roll with it.. one of my favs is the 59' Caddy so i have a soft spot for rediculously long vehicles
haha yeah she is just a driver, but will see the cruise in's and a few small local shows, and mine wont end up gettin junked any time soon, under side is as solid as the top side and the 425 super rocket is a hoot!! one tire fire on command even with a 2bbl car definatly get alot of looks, most are because people dont know what it is, and the rest are thumbs up's and i dig long cars also!! first project that i baild on was a 1961 caddy fleetwood series 60, even with the front end off it bairly fit in my garage
His painter must have studied Earl Scheibs work That is traditional Scheib Earl would even paint your tires for free.
im my painter and only reson the door handles are painted is because they were pitted bad, and i dont have the money to get them redone, once i have the money them along with the front bumper wil get redone, and i need to find a rear thats not rusted, gettin married in 3 weeks so funds are on lock down!
well, ive seen em go both ways, but not quite like this. not a fan of the orange, but otherwise its cool to me
dig the long one's too huh? you've got a friend here then... And i totaly hear ya about the budget brotha.. I think some people forget what it's like to have one on a build.. I'm a single Dad on a mill-workers wage so i get ya.. Do what you can with what you've got...
First experiment didn't work...try again.......now paint the scallops all one way and get rid of a few...that thing is all confused...it may rip apart it doesn't know which way to go.
Good luck with that! The '65 of my brother's had a rust hole in the rear bumper so big you could put a foot through. He had a replacement but I think he sold it, I will find out. Marty McFly
yeah, a guy on chitownracing was looking for 6-7 years before he found one, mines is rusted out at the bottom of the bumper right under the bumper mounts, and the front is fine, just chrome peeling, and with the scallops, i was thinking about taken all the backwords ones off BUT ill leave it like this for this summer, and change it all up this coming winter
That looks like my old car! I had one of them for a few months, daily driver over the winter a few years back. Put some Pep boys tires on it, that was the only modification I did. Ran straight and was fast for its size, had a high comp 425.
THATS BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!! leave the scallops. Let em try to figure wazzup with that. Its how trends get started. Remember, its only kinky the first time. Soon enough everyone will want dual scallops. No lie I like it.
yup peppy motors for the size of the car, mine also has the high comp 425 super rocket, but is rockin a 2bbl so its lacking a bit, but has put one tire up in smoke once or twice my new project will be much simpler... black primer and painted roof with metal flake
