Lately Ive been thinkin about some of the unsung heeros from the Kustom revival that have been building great Kustoms ever since! Wait till this thread gets goin!Kelly jumped on the scene in the early 80s with a chopped brandywine 46 Merc convert.Soon after he did a chopped and sectioned shoebox, and years later ,a chopped 60 Caddy ,not to mention a slew of chopped Mercs,1 of which was a sectioned convert!Although this unsung king uses Cordoba lights on occasion along with aftermarket window trim ,he still rules!I can pick out a Kelly Puckett Kuston from a mile away!
Kelly hails from Stockbridge Georgia by way of Ohio.Feel free to post pics....Im gonna try to start now!

Case in point,I know nothing about this car and I can feel that Kelly had something to do with this awesome car ,just by looking at the horrible Cordoba marker lights and the window trim!!lolSee what I mean...its gorgeous!

AAAH HAAA! My memory failed me!The car above had no Cordoba lights!lol....but it had the faux window trim!Another sign of a Kelly Puckett car is that he always runs "barely whites" ,never wide whites!lol

  8. I think the Ford won the Best Of Friends award at a merc duece reunion.

00mack, just curious as to why you don't like the cordoba lights? I agree he has done some beautiful work, but what's the deal with the lower trim on the orange shoebox, looks out of place. later shawn

Just a note about my hero also. I knew him when he lived in Reynoldsburg Ohio. At that time he had a 32 two door. What a beautiful ride. It ran jag front and rear. His brake booster looked better than my ride...Lol I also saw the so called 49 Ford that was actually a 51 but he built it as a 49 in order to go to the NSRA events. At least that's the story I heard.Lol. Any way you guys are right his rides were far ahead of anything I've seen.

my dad ran around with kelly while i was groing up. awsom builder but you are forgeting the chopped and sectioned 32 ford 2dr sedan he did and the streetrodder tried the same to a 4dr but could reproduce the same skill and proporsions kelly did .
the 32 he did was silver and green two toned in the late 70s and the went porche red in the 80s.maybe some the ohio poeple remember this car.

I took some pics of it at the Merc Deuce reunion years ago. I'll try to find them.
If you stufdy the proportions they are just dead on right. Seems like you see more
bad section jobs then good and Kelly knows just the right amount. For example,
Did anyone see the Mustang feature in the latest NSRA magazine? They have a
late 60s Mustang that was chopped and sectioned. I'm not a Mustang fan at all
but the workmanship is out of this world. I'll try to post pictures sometime this
    weekend.

Very talented builder that should be mentioned up there with the best of them.

    Happy Trails, Mick
