Since I have never been able to pick up a coupe I am just going to have to build something cool out of my 39 Pickup I picked up(that sounds funny) a few months ago.

  5. [Mike Lanwheir]- the 40-thru 48 fenders are not all the same on rears...40 is a one off year,41-48 will fit with some variations.......

the third pic that droplord posted is the 48 that eyeball built

sitting next to him in the somehow greenish looking shoebox is Tucks HEX
note: Tuck would be the one in the shoebox driving like Ace Ventura

If you cut through the windshield posts and across the floor, you could weld in a 41 cowl. YOu could then use the 41 front clip and doors. Here's my stretched wheelbase, custom 41 chevy.
Alright, it's actually my 41 Pontiac coupe...

Most likely the best 39 I have seen......I had a 41 that I got on a trade and almost had to give it away.
The Fords seem to be what most people want for the years listed.

Well, here is my future 47 HotRod business coupe. It will possess 4 qualities
Evil, Wicked, Mean and Nasty. The body is almost finished now and I'm thinking
about 500 cadillac power. Since I do ALL the work Myself I'm a little slow, and my 69 camaro drag car is getting jealous, and so is the 64 Impala SS. This is my first venture into the streetrodding world so any tips or pointers would be appreciated.

  14. Welcome to Hot Rodding the 40's Chevy, these cars are easy in comparison to other makes, w things only getting tight around the ex. manifold area, w a lot of kits out there to put SBC or BBC into them, Radiators stock can handle even a hot BBC IF in good condition , elec cooling fans work nicely, the rears can come out of 55-57 chevy, 70's camaro/firechicken, or mustang/cougar/maverick/comet 9" (room for a bit MORE rubber on these 9" wo tubbing )w near perfect width's , engine /trans mounts can come from RB's , Ch***is eng and many other's , the interior is roomy w lots of possibility's for modification , . front end is a very nice riding setup as is (less 1.5 coils ,IMO) tho the brakes could use some help , MII w discs or even front tube axle swaps w 49-54 spindles w a Speedway disc brake kit (g***er :) ?) are easy, grille swaps get a little sticky on the 46-8 w the same years olds being the easiest, front seats can comre from buckets to 80's GM's like a Cavlier or mid 70's big cars like an Olds 88, lots of choices on these cars -HAVE FUN :)

I had to get the '40 out yesterday. I had tire problems on the work truck. Lucky the nice weather up here cleaned the roads up a little. My '40 was built by my Dad and handed down to me. It has a camaro front sub, a nova rear with stock springs and 6.5" lowering blocks, and a 350-350 engine trans. It's a nice cruiser. I have a set of super slider springs ordered for it so I can get rid of some of the lowering block before summer. Here it is
