Hey Donnie I remember a painter in Van Nuys Ca, when I was in High School. Walt Prey i think was his name he painted a friends 68 Chevy Van metal flake with scrolls and ribbons over metal flake it was pearl baby plue. I always loved that paint scheme glad to see someone doing that again maybe 60's or ealy 70's van might come back in
walt is still painting actually.he is great striper too....he is god ...well one of em....he still works on alot of lowriders...yeah i am hoping that fad comes back....i think of a van as a big ass canvass to get crazy with hahahaha.....ya got pics of yer buddies ??????
hey Donnie who owns that green coupe on your site, Thats what I am building. I boxed original frame with lincoln buzz box a while back, kicked up rear used orignal rear cross member, running 283 with 194 later heads and offy 3x2's with powerglide. Running an orignal dago axle axle that my uncle took to stewarts shop in san diego to have dropped back in 50's. I chopped roof and reverse doors had to extend cowl 3/4 inch to make doors flush fit I used another cowl b pillar and hinges just swapped the left and right doors, filled roof with 80's camaro roof and chopped 3 1/2 inches. Currently building the headers bought cones at speedway and flanges on ebay, lakes style type.
I am running disc brakes right now on front but plan to change over to drums later i have extra spindles just got to wait for brake parts. A friend is converting his 56 ford truck to volare and is giving me front set up. I am running a nine inch in rear had buggy spring but took off sat to high and went to coil overs. I built shifter using and old 38 chev shifter handle and swap meet hurst auto matic assembly, made new brakets everyone thinks its lokar. I polished intake never to do that again fingers had black fingers for days
his name is scott goddard .....he is on the board ONCE in a while he is scottrod ..on here .....i think in his profile he has his email address ....you can ask him questions if ya need to ..he is a really really nice dude.just ell him i told ya to email him......that car is bad ass ....he put a 57 olds dash in it ....it wraps around into the doors and everything ....it came from the same car his motor came from..........
Thanks donnie I sure would like to look at his dash I took my center gas piece out of dash and made orignal MODEL A lines contine across one pain in the rear, cut a piece of aluminum and made engine turned housing for stewart warner gauges another pain in but looks good though, do it again---not!! Engine turning was done using metal impregnated rubber from eastwood and drill press.
It's good to hear he's still around! I've known Walt for a long time. Haven't talked to him in a few years now. We used to "party" at his house in Canoga Park. Anyone that knows him would know thats been a long time ago. Just found out lately that Mario Gomez passed? Met him through Walt. That is a great loss for sure. He used to be across from Bill Carter in an industrial complex. MyOld51
