To make a long story short I got SCREWED  when I bought a "running 331 hemi".
Now I'm in need of a crank and rods for a 1953 chrysler hemi. Anyone have spare parts for sale. Thanks

Sadly, that's how a lot of hemi deals work out. I bought a running hemi once, and it took two more engines before I had enough parts for one.

Take the good parts and set them aside. Once you have a good block you're on your way. Maybe keep your eye out for a 54 engine.

I usually just buy the whole engine, rather than trying to find a crank. It seems individual prices are higher.

Don't rush. Keep your eye on the swap meet boards. Hot Heads has a swap meet. Also look for Hemi Bob in Colorado, as he always seems to have some parts laying around.

It took me 4 years to build mine. Last thing I got was some heads, and it took six sets of heads to find two that were usable. Rather than sell the junk on eBay like the other thieves, I just took the bad hemi stuff to the scrappers to get it off the market. Rust is evil.

ya i just keep buying complete hemi engines and then you gain parts with each engine. Take the bad parts and scrap them only problem is some people realize its a hemi part and take it home with them and then try to sell them on ebay. I caught it once and stopped them before they screwed someone.

Keep scrounging around and more parts will come up.
