The fellas all got together at the club house a few nights ago and helped our buddy Lodwick get the floors done in his 1923ish Dodge. The following photos show the story.....take a minute and check 'em out. Post your honest opinions,...what looked good, what coulda been better, how would you have done it.

Here it is,....1923 Dodge Roadster. Its set up for a SBC/PG right now but final power is to be determined still. This car apparently sat in an autobody shop in or near San Jose for years. It was brought over here to Merced and shoved in a garage 10 or 15 yrs ago. Loddy bought it almost a year ago and is getting ready to get it on the road.

One from the side. The little bed might be coming off for a slightly longer one....plus whoever put that one did it crooked.

Anyways....this thing didnt have a floor in it at all when Loddy picked it up. He built the grid outta some steel and had it welded in by the time I got there to record the event for him. Here are a few photos of the floor grid.....

    [IMG] [IMG]

After building the grid, Vern (Lodwick) cut out a few paper patterns and transferred them over to some 14ga steel.

Vince and Vern measured and drilled out the pattern for the welds. The floor came out in 2 pieces.

Fit was good. Time to push it back inside and do some welding.

Thanks bruce reed. Theres more to come....

Loddy bought a junkyard seat outta the middle row of a caravan for his interior.

Little modification and it fit right in.

Seat in and ready for the drags....

For having a small tub....this car is long. Rog is a 6 ftr and fits in there perfect.

This truck is already clipped....needs a few things to make it a roller. It will be getting a full frame off though.

yeah, that many hands make the work go quick. and if we all throw our money in one hat we can split a slurpee and a bag of doritos. even on a budget build somethings still cost money (i am sure you can appreciate that with the durant).

not quite sure how much channel...the bottom of the body was sittin even with the bottom of the frame when he picked it up. its a "custom" frame (no vin).

it looks like the rails were about 4 maybe 4.5 inches though...

Vern210 is referring to the fact that we have a donor ford for running gear....simple bolt it into his bucket. it would get it running almost free and he could actually drive this car.....or he could wait till his budget allows for him to put a small block chev in it.

and the 289 is a rock-n-rolla.....got a little poop to it. i am not a ford guy either but eff me.....get that damn thing on the road and worry about a small block later.

  27. Small block Chevy??? if you mean a 265, 283 or 327 maybe... just not a 350/350 please, how about a small block mopar? I had a 273 with the small TF in a Dart many years ago and it was a screamer, beat lots of 289 stangs, or how about a slant six, you can pick them up super cheep, Clifford makes go fast goodies and it would be different..

Gary Meadors had one like this many years ago before he became Meador$$

Alright fellas, updates on the Dodge. Loddy made his panhard bar at the shop a few nights ago. It actually came as a piece of s**** outta Vinces bed. A few minutes on the saw and a couple of tacks and this is the final result.

This was part of a rear suspension piece off a camaro or firebird. The trailing arm was in the bed of Vinces truck and noone was gonna use it. Looks good for free.

Little black paint and she looks good as new. Well not new, but as good as anything else on that frame.

After finishing the floors we pulled the body off and made some room to dial in the rear suspension. Heres how she is sitting now.

Heres how it is in the shop. Foreground, Vince and the guys are doin so eyeballin on gettin his 4 link set up. Background, Lodwick is hitting them with sparks while he takes down the welds on his Dodge.

    See the truck build here
