    Pace Performance too.

Google and you'll come up with 4 or 5 dealers in the US that are within $50 of each other and WAY lower than your local dealers. I have an acquaintance that manages a local chevy parts dept, and he claims their invoice cost is higher than pace's retail on GMPP crates.

Then it's just a matter of who's got the best shipping price. It varies. Alot. And obviously who you're comfortable transacting with. But realize if you install it yourself the fine print makes the warranty a piece of ****.

    good luck

Oreilly auto parts sells rebuilt 350 shortblocks. you can get a lifetime warranty and if it's faulty they will replace it no problem.

Advance Auto Parts has a standard 350 source that can also access a 327. Price is approximately $1500.00. Pretty solid warranty too.

  9. i see that Jeg's offers GMPP crate engines at a good price , they also have a flat shipping rate...i have never used them , it may be worth checking out

although i have used many crate engines i have never been able to figure out their pricing . the Chevy dealer 3 blocks from me can not even get close on price , but a dealer over 100 miles from me can sell them dirt cheap and even gives free delivery...no shipping charges at all. call them and the next day they will drop off any GMPP engine you want. it must be some sort of volume discount?

the reason in the price difference is 1. overhead 2. "pack"(which is profit dealers make that they dont pay anyone on...kind of like a dealer/doc fee) 3. volume 4. up sells ie:warranty/performance parts

im in the car business. it ****s

  13. I prefer dealing with someone local. In Houston we've found several places that build from seasoned cores fresh motors, but only one (Watco) that, when asked about warranty said "if you have a problem bring the vehicle to us and we'll fix it." Only had one problem in 20 yrs. and wasn't even a machining fault (wrong rocker arms for the newer heads) and they went out of their way to make us happy. Can't say how good that feels!

Guarnty Chevrolet in Santa Anna, CA has very good price point and free delivery within the LA Orange county area. I have bought over thirty engines from them over the last four years and very well satisfied.
