Event Coverage Pomona Motel 6 for Father's Day...Safe??

I have a room booked at the Motel 6 in Pomona on S. Garey for the LA Roadster Show in 2 weeks.

Is that an OK neighborhood to park a roadster? Anyone else staying there?

It should fine Neal. My Dad stays there every year.(Does not bring a hotrod though) I think they have security there. Not a bad place at all in my opinion. Close good food too.---I just thought about something. This may be a different Motel 6 than I am thinking about. My brother and I stayed there a couple of years ago. We had a truck and trailer for one of his woodies. We parked by the office and it was fine.

 

You might be thinking of the the San Dimas Motel 6...it's real close to the Fairplex and I hear it's nicer...but all they had were smoking rooms left...and I'm not a smoker.

It should be fine, the typical Pomona resident is probably more interested in stealing something newer with cheesy looking 20+ inch wheels on it.

Here where myself and whole bunch of us from Phoenix are staying including ElPalcko who drive his show/shop truck every year and we had no problems at all. I am sure it helps that they have a security guard who walks the parking lot all night long.

clairmont, san dimas, la verne are generally better. I lived in Pomona for about 20 years. Pomona has it's good and bad areas as any city. If you can park your ride in front of your room better.


All are about 10-15 min if that from the Fairplex and So cal speed shop.

 

Whatever you do, DO NOT stay at the Best Western in San Dimas!!!

 

I'm driving my 32 sedan from Ill. is the Rodway Inn at 310E Foothill in Pomona ok and safe?

You don't have to smoke to stay in one of those rooms.

 

Take the San Dimas smoke room......very cool Hot Rodders there.

 

I've stayed at both . '07 at the Pomona one and it was fine , full of car people ........Z.

Tryed San Dimas, it was full.

 

Ya I also forgot the chrome stickers on the pillars as well.

 

I stayed there about 5 years ago and it was real noisy, loud music across the street and people walking around all night, I have been staying at the motel 6 in chino and have had no problems in the past 3 years and its not far from the fairgrounds or socal speed shop.

The Motel6 on Garey is HORRIBLE, STAY AWAY!!

....especially since that's where we always stay.

 

I'll be at the Red Roof Inn @ San Dimas......lots of rodders stay there.......restaurants nearby, etc.....it's right on Arrow Highway at the 57 Freeway....

We always stay at the Shiloh in Diamond Bar...nice rooms..clean, secure - 15min to Fairplex

 

Any one staying at the Rodeway Inn in Pomona or am I the only one?
