Here are some pictures of my Mercury truck ( a little over restored ) Not a traditional rod but too nice of condition not to restore. Sometimes you just don't want to cut them up.......... Kyle

That sure is a sweet looking truck. What were the differences between the Mercury truck and the Ford version, was it more of an extra option type deal, different drive train options, or???

Mercman1951 Some of the differences are (mostly) the trim and emblems for example the grill on a custom cab 55 Ford has the trim on the top of the grill Mercs have trim on the top and the bottom on Fords the star means 6 cylinder Mercs have a star on the grill but it is a Mercury only star (non reproduced) item and it has the V8. Mine has the 256ci Y block in it that was used in the Merc cars. Mostly trim and value. When I went to insure it they wanted to value it as a "high end" Ford truck and I told them Hell no I want it valued as a Mercury and they made me go and get it appraised. And the appraiser had never seen one before and he asked me what I thought it was worth................Kyle

You definitely did the right thing by bringing it back to origional . Not everything has to be modified. That's a sweet looking old truck, keep it in the shape it is in now and you'll never be sorry.

Great truck! The Mercury trucks were built and sold only outside the USA, in Canada, Mexico, Central and South America and perhaps elsewhere.

Beautiful truck!!! I live right on the border with Canada and i remember seeing Mercury trucks over here fairly often when i was a kid. I always thought they were better looking than their American counterparts. Maybe it was just because they were different. I stumbled across this pic somwewhere on the net and realised i had never seen a Mercury truck from the '40's. I really like the grille better than the American Fords.

My Dad was HUGE into F-100's back in the 80's There was a guy out of Nebraska that had a wild 55 Merc PU and an even wilder 55 Merc Panel. If I remember correctly the both had blown Big Blocks. They were really unique in a sea of F-100's I remember he had a really hard time finding good trim.
