who all is going to the car show today in ypsi???????? i will be their in my towing atire, but will get some pics posted when i get hom tonight
eh, I guess you can now bring your Pontiacs. Sorry for the divert. Should be great weather in this side of the country today. The pics should be interesting. I'll be watching for them.
I'll be there as well...if we can use our membership's voices here locally to try and convince the organizers of the Orphan Car Show to keep it on the same weekend as Billetproof from year-to-year, that would make for a great little weekend that would draw people from hundreds of miles around annually. Now we just need a HAMB-Drags type of event on the Friday night before Billetproof on Saturday to thoroughly round out the weekend! As of 9am all the local weathermen are saying that the rain will be very light this morning and will end by lunchtime with a mostly cloudy afternoon. Regardless of the weather, due to the very unique once-a-year nature of this event, I'm going rain or shine.
I'm waiting for the wife and kids to quit screwing around so we can leave... we'll be there shortly! JK
Trying to get out of a 3 year-old's birthday party (not my kid's) to go, we will see. This year's featured make is Hudson, my grandfather worked there way back. Mark
It was a great show, will post up some pics when I get home from Detroit. 4 of the 12 surviving Cole automobiles, the only Ann Arbor auto known to exist, The only Sundown (1904) known to exist and it ran and drove, LOTS of Hudsons, LOTS of Stude's, Corvairs, Cushmans.... Its a good show with a good presentation.
Nope, not yet. Car has to be out of production for 7 years, that and the fact it must be stock in appearance from what I was told, Big Olds will never be able to attend. If you've never been this show is awesome. It's held at what is in my opinions one of the best venues in the Metro Detroit area for a car event. There were lots of HAMB folks in attendance and not a drop of rain at the event (I was there from 11-5) Great to see everyone there and have the opportunity to chat amoungst the trees and thick green grass. I did snap a few photos This electric car was very similar to the one that burned in the shop fire my '47 Chevy was in One of those little jump seat were on each side.....sure would be a crazy ride sitting there A Davis Megan and Matt in Matt's Nash
This is the women, with her oldest daughter standing there, who is going to drive this car across country as a tribute to Alice Ramsey's journey 100 years ago. It was wonderful meeting her and I wished her well.
Damn, must have just missed you! We were there from 11-1:30. I got a really cool picture of Riley in a Studebaker hubcap on my cell phone, that was the highlight of the show for me. Thank goodness the rain held off! Later, JK
Love that 417W Hupp coupe - built by Murray body - 1934 Ford Cabriolet body with a 3 Window coupe top welded on - doors are frameless. Wheelbase is 117" with a Hupp I-6, and fenders, running boards hood and grille all being Hupp pieces.
