2009 Gasser Reunion Thompson Ohio

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Falcon Gasser, Feb 6, 2009.

  1. Does anyone know what safety rules were being used for the FED'S that were there? NHRA, IHRA, Thompson Track, or what.

Wow....what a event...! We had a absolute blast. Way to much to absorb even now. As always these events are about the people, and this event was truely special. Anytime we get a chance to hang out with the S&S team its a special event. The whole team is like family and having the chance to be with them even without racing is a fun time. Add in a race and it was beyond awesome...! This year we had the pleasure of seeing some friends that we normally don't get a chance to see. Bones, Jerry and Gary Mallicoat, Ohio George, Johnny Rocca, Ken and Erenst McIntyre, the list goes on and on...... Not to mention all the gas-fx and HAMB members that I have met over the years..truely awesome.....!

Rich, Thompson is IHRA so as far as I know that was the "rule" of the day. However I think most any track the tech inspector has the final say so - either way if you know what I mean. The Tech inspector looked at my car very closely - as well as my safety gear .

I know that they keep pretty good tabs on the guys - one fella I know (to be nameless) got a warning for not wearing his safety gear during the event.

I think they try to work with the racers as much as they can.

Are you considering coming to the next one?????

Originally a Texas car, but the Taxi is actually out of central PA. He won overall Gasser Eliminator, and we celebrated with a bottle of wine afterwards.

  13. rumor has it the car was hanging in the rafters in a little suburb here with the 392 still in it and was bought for 2500 bucks

    Rocky,
What a great event. Wonderful to see you and the team again. As for your win with the K.S. Pittman car. YAHOOOOO Fred said that both of you had a co-pilot. I believe that. Congradulations.

Not as of this morning. I called Kurtis and asked if he'd sold it. "Not yet, but the phone hasn't stopped ringing since I got home."

If you want to check further, here is Kurtis' cell: 716-316-3703

Damb, looks like I missed a good one. Doctors orders kept me home. Looking forward to next years race. The East Coast Gassers were well represented with about 20-25 race cars and ECG Member Lew Stitley winning all the marbles on Sunday.:D

This was the best one yet. Great weather and tons of cars. Lots of great racing. The 409 guys put on a great show. I didn't know a "truck" motor would run that hard. If things worked out , i posted a video of COOLJUNK racing a 409 nova on youtube. Search gasser nova.Don't know how to link it here. Thats my Falcon on the hill overlooking the track. I hope next year is as good!
