I am told by the owner of this visor, that it is made to fit my 1952 Chevy 2dr styleline... but it doesn't look like the ones I am used to seeing. Before I move on it, ( at a very fair price,) I want to know if it will fit my car, and will it look good/right?!
Please any thoughts would be appreciated.

It's not a stock Chevy exterior visor (the ones you are probably used to seeing), it's an aftermarket unit, but it is for a split windshield and it's adjustable width so I'm sure it will fit on your car.

The outer sections can be slid in or out to make it wider or narrower, the center section covers the split so it'll fit different cars. Pinch clamp goes on the center windshield divider, and the ends get screwed into the roof. You'll be able to use it if you want. And it sounds like the price is right. Just not correct for a stock-only restoration.

A Fulton would look better, imho.

thanks for the help. i think a fulton will look better too, but this is running me about 30% of what a fulton would run me.It should work for now.

  5. There were alot of companies that made visors way back when. They were a fairly popular accessory. The one you have pictures of looks like it might be a Peckat, but I can't really tell for sure. Look it over carefully, there might be some markings or a trademark somewhere. I found a picture of one on a Fleet that looks like the one you're looking at. It is the light purple suede car. I think it looks pretty nice.

The Fultons are pretty wide, (I mean front to back, not side to side), and on some cars they don't look right. I found a picture of a Fulton on another Fleetline--the burgundy one. I think it looks nice also.

Probably the rarest and most sought after Chevy visor (at least by the bomba guys I hang around with out here) is the visor they call the "baseball cap" style. I believe that this style is a genuine GM factory option visor. Here's a picture of one on a green Bel-Air. This visor pretty much looks identical for the '49-'52s, the only difference is the mounting hardware in the center because the earlier cars had a split windshield and the later cars had a one piece windshield. I think these are very nice, too.

Good luck on your search. Bargains on visors are hard to come by nowadays. I remember when I was a kid nobody wanted them and my Dad used to find them in the trash all the time! Many, many of them went to Atlas Metals and got s****ped. It makes me cringe now when I think back. Who knew? E

    OG,
Thank you very much, your time and insight have proven very helpful. I recently acquired my 52' Deluxe and honestly I don't know a whole lot. (Spent most my time on bobbers.) I would really like to see your ride.
