Old age - can't remember the name but they're online and also have a print catalog with just about everything like unusual fasteners, metal shapes, tools, etc. Sorta like Aircraft Spruce on steroids. I need to find a lock spring shaped like a bobby pin. Many thanks, Tom

  7. Springs are easy to make.

You can find Music Wire at most hobby shops . . . especially those that carry model airplane kits.

TrueValue and the like carry a pretty good ***ortment of springs.

And . . . fwiw . . . some of the guys who are building Ruger 10-22 rifles are using bobby pins as trigger return springs.

The metallurgical and fatigue bit bothers me with these, but so far I haven't seen any reports of failure.

The great thing about McMaster Carr and Grainger is that both of them are not fussy about small orders. There are a lot of walkin Grainger stores usually in larger towns. They are great for AC electric motors for compressors or anything that you need a 110 or 220 v motor for.

Don't know how it is where you are,but Grainger here only sells business to business..and you either pay with cash or a company check...no personal checks...They also won't even look up anything without first getting a company name or account number...Had to jump thru hoops to get my business registered with them...but, once all the hoopla was over, they are very fast on getting parts to you...also they don't charge me freight if they get it from the warehouse overnight and I pick it up locally

If they don't have it you don't need it. If you really really need it they can get it.
