Holley 94, Float Chamber Vent Tube Repair? Replacement?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by crazycasey, Jun 10, 2009.

  1. Hey guys and gals...

Just wondering if anybody has ever tried to replace the float chamber vent tube (in the air horn) on a Holley 94? I have a carb that must have been dropped or something, because the vent tube is all loose. Does anybody know where to get a replacement...or what type of tubing to use to make one? Also, how the heck would you press it back in?

    Thanks!

Look over top carefully...loose may mean there is a crack from the hole.

  4. Just pulled the tube out...hole looks fine, tube looks tweaked, partially smashed. Appears to be a simple press fit deal, but the angle will make replacement a PITA.

What is OD of tube? My first thought would be to see if it matches a standard brke or fuel line from the parts store and slice out a replacement, loc***e into hole.

  6. Yeah...it looks to be 5/16 OD right on the money (my caliper says 0.311). Piece of brake line, an angle cut, and a little Loc***e brand sleeve retainer looks to be the fix of the day.

    Thanks!

You can also put a punch or something into tube as a supporting anvil and whack it in a few places with a sharp chisel or centerpunch to add some teeth where it goes into the zinc.
