When did they go alum on t-10's (chev)?

    I'm no expert on this but I just read that Chevy T-10's were cast iron from 57-63.Others say it was 57-61.

    I once had a T-10 that had 1962 date codes on all of the major castings, and it was a cast iron main body with an aluminum side cover and tailstock.

    One thing I know for sure is my 62 409 had a full alumimun case T-10. I expect that the 61 '09 had the same ******. Earlier T-10s, I expect, had cast iron cases and probably tail sections as well. The Muncie ****** came in 63 Chevys as I recall.

    Back in the 80's I had a 61-dated full aluminum case T-10.

    Pontiac went to the aluminum cases in 63
