Does anyone have pics of the wood around the back window of a 32 5 window? Mine has nothing at all and I would like to return it to a wind down window, I would use a modern winding unit. Thanks in advance.
Not a 5W ... but a 1932 Ford 3W I have been told that the window regulator is the same for a 3W and a 5W ... but do not know that for positive. Anyway ... these photo should HELP in figuring out the parts puzzle
My 32 5 window is not like the 3 window in the pics .The regulator mounts with 3 screws . two screws go thru a metal cover similiar to the 3 window the other goes thru a hole in the rain pan . You cannot see the spring on the regulator as in the pic of the 3 window. If you want i can try and email you pics as i am just modiying mine so it is out of the car.
if you're going to use a modern regulator, why not just fab channels and a mount out of steel... gotta make the parts either way, wood or metal.
Thanks for everyones interest and input, I will make up something combined with the wood ( so I can screw reveal to ) and a steel pan. Will post pics of end result. Its great to be able to get this info, 5 windows are not exactly thick on the ground out here in New Zealand.
