I'm finally starting body work on my 40 Coupe, So i need to finally make a decision on my color. Figured I'd get some outside opinions.

Right now I'm trying to decide between Sunglow yellow, a 56 Ford yellow. And Inca Gold Pearl, a newer Chrysler Gold color.

    Any opinions welcome!

Black is the BEST color for 40 Fords.

My first car, a 75 Duster, was Inca Gold (no pearl). I'm partial to it.

The other yellows look kinda pissy, washed out.

I would first say to go black, but if you want a yellow I would go more towards an off white instead of an actual yellow. But dont listen to what others say do what you like not what someone else likes.

I think a lot depends on what style you're going for - Early hot rod, custom, g***er, 60's hot rod, etc. Make your selection based on what you like, but there are "wrong" paints for differing styles.

I agree on the style you are going for, sbc = gold, flathead = yellow

Well it has a 327/350 in it. Nothing too modern on the car, I'm still running i-beam with split wishbones. I feel like the gold is more of a custom color, not really hot rod.

Washington Blue is always my choice for a 40.
