Hey everyone...im pretty new to this forum and 2 months ago picked up a 54 GMC on a 48 Plymouth sedan frame with a flat 6 in it...i've been working non-stop on this (body work, paint, wiring, brakes, supports..pretty much a little bit of everything) i've had her out acouple times since then but just wondering if there is anyone near the sayreville New Jersey area around?

From what I know of it the first person who took on this project had a 48 Plymouth Sedan that had a pretty solid frame but a weak body then he picked up the cab from the junk yard and bedsides from a 65 chevy. He then sold it to someone that didnt do much to it except drive it and it took a beating so I bought it off of him. There were a few problem one major problem was the original builder made a custom bracket for the shocks and when I bought it I notice that the bracket that was made wasnt in the right position or angle so instead of the shocks traveling up and down it move left to right which was causing the bracket and section of the frame to pull away and rip off, so i went along and fixed that. Next was the bed didnt allow the rear to travel all the way and it severed the brake line in half so I had to modify the bedsides to allow it to travel to the full extent. The radiator im not sure what it was from was cracked and leaking and it had a tractor grill on it...the grill shell was beat up really bad. I used a 60's mustang radiator and 28-29 Model A grill shell and made supports to hold the radiator and shell. I did some body work but left a little bit for character and resprayed the truck. Replaced the truck bed (plywood) with 2x8 peices and stained them and cut to fit nicely. The gas tank was relocated to the back othe bed and cap shaved down off the body. There was alot of whole in the front cab for original parts and wires to go so I made a stainless steel firewall plate and bolted it on instead of welding it on to add character. There is many more things that I have done but that was the main part of it. There is more coming soon but im 22yrs old and as most kids my age cash is low.
Some people ask me how did I get into these style and era of car and the truth is I feel like they match who I am and just love what they are for, what they are about and the people that I get a chance to meet
