ive been a fan of this site for quite awhile. it has been a great source for tech info and inspiration. im curently building a 29 ford tudor "rat rod" that i bought as a rolling ch***is and body. after getting the car i found the frame was nowhere near straight or square so ive built a new frame with help from a friend and i am very happy i did so since now everything is " how i would have done it" instead of "how i got it" its got a 402 bbc from a truck and turbo 400. plan to post some pics soon. im originally from los angeles now stuck here in alabama hoping to get back to cali asap. thanks for a great site and glad to be apart of it!
welcome to the hamb, car sounds like its coming along good need pics. easy on the "rat rod" dont want to open up that can of worms.
If you're a fan of the site you should know not to use that word. There are lots of other sites if you interested in building a P.O.S RR. If you want to build a quality Hot Rod this is the site for you then and welcome.
i missed the part about what i can or cant call my car what i want and still be a fan of this site sorry dude. it seems to be what everybody else calls it since its rusty and paintless. my thing is i dont think its a hot rod because i dont follow any sort of era specific tradtion, but its not a rat rod either, its not made of junk or spare wrenchs or anything like license plates or street signs. it will be painted and have a 60's era feel, but it will still have air bags electronic ignition modern brakes etc. i've seen plenty of hot rods that where p.o.s.s by the way.
hey livingdead, some kooks are gonna get jollys by correcting your grammar and pointing out your taboo words and that ******** (gets their blood pressure too high i guess). pffft. whatever man. welcome to the site. cant wait to see your photos. I had a similar problem when I bought my model A tudor sedan (just body and frame rails) the frame was about 1 and a half inches longer on the left side....yeah. had to totally rework the frame and rechop the body. post pics when you can. and again, welcome
its pretty long 137"s. may cut it down. it didint look that long in the garage when i was building it!
