Folks Of Interest Lady racks up 540,000 miles on her 64 Comet

i wish i had that kinda commitment. i'd like to see a tempo or a topaz do that.

 

I remember a "Thats Incredible" episode where a traveling salesman had over a million highway miles on a 67 dodge or something like that.
This Gal has averaged 33-34 miles per day since the car was new. those are hard miles.

 

Very cool story...not only don't they make cars that last anymore, there aren't very many people like her around anymore either!

She lives right here in town. I've seen the car a few times (but never met her.) I think she'd back over me a few times if she saw what a mess my '64 Comet is.

First On Race Day!

 

Probably changed the compressor and changed to 134A somewhere along the line. Don't know how well those "lawn mower motor" compressors work with 134A, but she got rid of a bunch of vibration when it was changed over.

Cool! We are building a '61 Comet for Bonneville, we hope to do better than 120 but that's not bad for factory original.
