here's one of mine '65 ford f100.. last owner said it was a kit from suicide brothers (four link) and a 6 'c-notch see ya
This is the "notch" that I made for my Stude. Jeez, it must be 6 years ago -- I've been so busy with making bike parts I haven't touched it since Ron and I cut it up for the DVD. I'm doing another ironhead right now (it's a sickness), hopefully I'll get back to it after that... It's got a coat of flash rust because I left a (closed) container of muratic acid near it for a few days. Everything within a 4 foot circle looked like that after the weekend.
Is that a single sided notch? Looks pretty beefy. Should have saved cutting the floor for frame clearance. True?
1932 Ford " C " Notch ... anymore and the rear axle housing would bump the floor in a roadster or a 3W ... Suspension has almost 4 inches of upward travel before the axle tubes hit the frame rails ...
It is single sided and twice the material thickness as the frame. It mantains at least the same width as the frame. The original rubber bumper bolts to the flat surface. The only place the floor was cut was for differential clearance and the driveshaft tunnel was raised.
Here is a great tech article on C-Notching http://www.cl***icperform.com/tech_articles/F-100-C-Notch-Kit/F-100-C-Notch-Kit.htm
Here is a tech from a few years back, it works well for a mild notch. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=248759&highlight=brjnelson
