So, I stumbled across this truck the other day at a friend's farm. I knew it was there, but never really thought too much about it, as I had always thought it was a lot bigger model than it is. I've inquired about it, and I can't imagine that he'd want to keep it after someone wave a couple bucks under his nose. So, should I build it on the S-10 ch***is I have sitting out back, or sell it and wait on the 34-36 International that I REALLY want to find? I'm an IH nut, and I doubt I'll ever really be happy without a C in the garage...but these Diamond T's are cool lookin' trucks... Choices, choices.
This is not my truck. I saw it in Redwood City, Ca. a few weeks ago. It appeared to have late model running gear but the stock proportions were kept. I think it cleaned up well!
I think you should save it,,this is my save, drive it often. Sets on a 79 Chev stepvan ch***is, 350/400. Not quite as nice as most but finished never the less.
You need to buy that just to keep it out of the shredder. If your money looks good to him a s****pers money will too, it's all green. Do not try to put it on an S-10 ch***is! If you're going to re-frame, it needs something big under it like Babyearl did. You've already said it's not what you want so don't even bother starting to build it. If it's not what you want buy it and p*** it along to someone who does. Whatever you do don't let it go to the shredder.
Too big for an S10 ch***is. Use it for swap material. I'd take that for an International. The dumb thing is I could have bought one a couple years ago for $500. Probably still could, but I'd have to go to a Rhinebeck show to find the vendor who had it for sale.
My budget currently doesn't allow for the purchase of many big dollar parts, like a one ton ch***is. I have the S-10 already, and I figured that if I were to do a little work to the fenders I could make the body "fit" the ch***is, more or less. I'm gonna make sure I can get it, and see what I can do toward selling it for IH money, or swapping it if I get lucky. If I get stuck with it, maybe I'll sit it in my field for a while and look for a ch***is then.
Those trucks are heavy. I wish I had a video of the time I picked the front end of one like that up with my big winch truck. Everything was going fine until-----you guessed it.......my front end went straight up with me in it! Inexperience. No harm was done, just scared me.
Sure is random. So i figured out why Hempstead Welding is no longer in business (wouls be neat if the were, or maybe not, lol) http://books.google.com/books?id=sIe_n5xqpdYC&pg=PA248&dq=%22hempstead+welding%22&client=firefox-a http://books.google.com/books?id=Wpw5AAAAIAAJ&q=%22hempstead+welding%22&dq=%22hempstead+welding%22&client=firefox-a&pgis=1 Thats interesting.
neat truck old motor homes are a dime a dozen and they dont have many miles on them s10s have some value sell it get a bigger frame. That truck is cool and different !!
Well, while waiting for this guy to let me know what he wants for the Diamond T, I've found a couple C model Internationals that I think I gotta have. I may still snag this one if it's cheap enough, though...just to p*** along and try to make a couple bucks.
