Thank you for sharing that. Cool old lady. Takes care of herself and her car. More people should be like that. Josh.

I thought the HAMB cutoff was 64? Dam what a great story!! As a matter of fact Ive owned 3 Comets (my first car was a Comet) and they are the most reliable cars ive owned, may just a coincidence but either way they've been good to me, I still own one. I doubt anyone let alone any women from this generation will ever do the same! We live in some sad times..

Years ago I had a 65 Cyclone that didn't care what I did to it. Tire smoker for sure and won its share of races and still got 25 mpg. That's one I'm still sorry I sold. Great cars

That's an awesome story. I especially like the "lifetime warranty" items..

Me too, I can see the managers trying to wiggle their way out of making good on the warranty. I'm sure she made em' squiggle then pay up. Nice lady. Josh.

Babes, Guns, and old cars! The only thing missing is the beverage for after the cruise.

Now that is a true Car Lady ! Keeps all the records and makes sure the mechanic does his job . The car really looks great too ! Hell I will be happy just to be living at 85 and at that age to drive anywhere and carries a gun ! What more can you say ! Oh yea , she has even driven to 120 mph also !
She should be a HAMBer !

my favorite part is where she is talking about how they just renew the elderleys lisence without even testing them....I've been saying that for years, that after a certain age you should have to do road tests. Not to be mean, but as she said "its safety"

God Bless her (and the Comet):D There are probably thousands just like her that are just as tied to their cars as she is and stil have their physical and mental capacities. She's unique because of the length of ownership and the miles she has on her car. I hope she keeps on driving until she can't (I got a feeling she'll know when to quit and will go peacefully) and I hope her car lasts for as long as she does.

My mom was a lot like her, same great at***ude. Only difference is my mom always traded her cars when she needed new tires.:D:D She finally gave up driving at 87, and then p***ed away at 91. When I used to take her out for day trips she always wanted me to let her drive cause she said she missed it.

That's a great story, the kind of story that puts a smile on your face and I'm still smiling. Oh and you better make good on that warranty, because she's packin heat!

That is too cool. The Comet is a '64, and the HAMB goes up to and including '64, so it's good (past '64 if the vehicles looked essentially the same, such as '65 Chevelles, '65 and '66 chevy pickups, etc.)

Hot Rod did a feature on that car a few years ago. I think it had "only" 400 and some thousand on it then.

Love it. She's from a bygone era...an era where people actually cared for the cars they owned.

  28. I didn't know it was posted a few days ago, did a search and didn't see it, and I guess a few others didn't manage to see it until now, either. if anybody wants to combine the threads, go right ahead...

I love it. I'd like to take her out for a bite and just let her talk. I bet she has some stories.
