i have this old Dixson Bonneville tach I pulled from the 59 235-6 cyl I need to know how it works on an 8 cyl..I know there's a way...django wants to buy it..I'm trying to help him out... there are three wires white, black, green
can you get a clear picture of the back of the unit that is inside the cup? should be able to tell from there. jerry
What's the little box with all the wires? The factory tach in my chevelle has less wires. Educate me.
There are only three wires green,black,white.....the guy who owned this car is well...what we call a propeller head(Nerd) (dork) whatever......anyways he had some weird stuff on this car like an Altimeter mouned on the dash, also had a seat belt warning light rigged up on top of the dash..anyways this box is like a junction box..why he had it hooked like that..who knows..serious tripper!! hahaha
Some of the early ones had a resistor on the PC board that had to be cut for 6 or 4 cyl apps. Hopefully the Nerd didn't cut it off the board as they were calibrated with that value. Don't ask me how I know.
