Building a 50 merc for a customer who wants his headligths to be a little different than the rest but also wants me to keep them looking old school and not to wild. Quads are definitly not an option. This is what i have come up with. 55 olds light bezells with 53 olds parking lights. I kind of like it myself but my customer is not sure if he does or not so he asked me to get some other opions on them before he makes a decision. So lets hear what you think of theme. He also likes the 53 buicks but i have done many myself.
There's a customer who knows what he wants!I think it looks good, but i would have to see both of them on and a shot of the whole front of the car.
I think that looks cool and different, but if the customer is not 100% sure I would do nothing until they are firm on one idea vs. another.
I think that combo looks good, it's refreshing, I like the Buick lights but they're like the Buick trim on a Merc, looks good but there's way too many Mercs with that look. Just My opinion !
yea....ya know...my buddy and i just frenched the headlights on my 52 olds....i really could never stand the turn signals below the bezels...i think the customer may be more please with just the 55 olds bezels and maybe turn signals from a 56 buick?
that would look pretty cool, though it is kind of hard to tell from only one view. I personally like the no chrome around the headlight look on customs.
The lights look real good . A nice change that isn't too wild ! I agree with the 2 lines that need to go ! So how long till we can see the results ?
Can't make a decision until I see the entire front of the Merc with both lights and grille in place. But first impression is that the 49 Merc parking lights look awfully good.
Thanks for all your imput. After seeing all you imput on these light rings & parking ligths my customer has given us the big I Want them and now. GB & Thanks, Rick & Carol Erickson of EXK EXTREME KUSTOMS www.ericksonskustoms.com
Very kool!! I love the 53 Olds parking light idea. You always seem to come up with something new... Happy Trails, Mick
Do a tapered 'hood' or tunnel in cardboard, surrounding the light bezel. That might give you what the customer needs. Kind of like a mid-'50's Packard? It does need something ... Dan Stevens dba, Steelsmith
