Doing a very cl***y paint job on a '51 Buick. Of course the secret is the pink primer. Because everyone knows that it's all pink underneath. The owner Rush helped out in the shop while on vacation, so he got some sweat equity. He has since went back to work and we are finishing it up. the start... just had too... the start of the bodywork... primer.. in the pink zone... black base... gold on the bottom... cover liberally with Wild Cherry Kandy... Shooting the final clear as this is being written... then on to the cut and buff... more pics later or tomorrow...
That woulda been WAY bad*** had it'd been shot in glossy pink...hehe. I have a "soft spot" for pink..... Cool rig. Last weekend I striped a guys pu and the car he was working on was a '50 Buick fastback, fresh green metallic paint and a chop to DIE for....I'll get some pics next time I'm over there, I think you'll really dig it Z.
Wondering why the pink primer when it's gonna be black? Seems rock chips would be less visible with a darker color primer. Is it easier to spray black over a light primer/sealer?
Looks very nice Scott, You and yours guys always do good clean work.. The owner will be proud to cruz around in that .. What ever happen to that 57 Chevrolet you where going to redo, did you finish that?
He had already bought some K36 and that's what we used. We tinted a coat or two to mess with him. He's on here so he should see it. Thanks, we fixed the mechanicals on the '57. Then it went down the road, hopefully he's driving it and having a good time.
The owner did do a large part of the work, he was in here on vacation working side by side with J-Solo and Biscuit.
Ahhhhhh. A nice, well proportioned, shiny custom is the perfect antidote to the rampant ***gotry of rat rodism. This car will rule, sir.
Is this kinda like a guy having a pair of pink ******* on under his suit? Seriously though, the current look looks damn good, cant wait to see it finished.
Candy is dandy, but *** won't rot yer teeth Me likey. Scott, you da man! Me also like the sharks 'n swallows
I have a good crew, that really helps... But thanks Mike, we're trying to pretty 'em up one at a time.
