Have a new set of cowl panels for my 31 Ford Roadster. I know that they were spot welded to the fire wall originally & I am guessing the must have been spot welded to the door pillar as well but I am not sure where. My cowl doesn't have the panels attached anymore.

Were the spot welded on the bottom as well??? What type of portable spot welder could anyone recommend for this project.

    Thank you.

just got thru doing mine on my 31 ford roadster. the old panels were spot welded both on the posts and bottom. i drilled 3/16 holes about 2-3 inches apart and then mig welded them in. just got my top cowl braces from brookville today and now i'm trying to figure out on how they mount on the door post and firewall. soundslike you and me are doing the same things on our 31's. pm me if you needhelp. i'm learning as i go.
