here are a few pics of cars i stumbled across last weekend. this might not interest many people but i am so excited. i never find anything good. they are 8 hours away from where i live but there are a few that i will gladly make the trip for.
sorry for the bad angles. the NO TRESPASSING signs kept me from getting very close. i was already 100 miles away and on my way home when i got in contact with the owner. i will be heading back in a few weeks to pick up some cars and take more pictures
I saw a lot in there that I really like. Hope you get something out of there and when your finished with what you want, let the rest of us know where it's all at. Mike
Looks like there was some method to the madness. Chevy's are with Chev's and Fords appear to be with Fords. Is that red convertible a 49 50ish Ford???
i plan on getting the 51 ford convertible (shoebox) 47 ford truck and 41 ford truck cab. i would like the 29 dodge bros 4door but then im just getting greedy. he says he has lots of model A stuff in the back but he is saving those for himself. he is 80 years old not sure how much he will get done but its his stuff i respect whatever he wants. not sure how much stuff i can pack on a 16' car hauler and my truck bed
Someone posted pics of the same cars today. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=372220&highlight=old+lady Sounds like you actually got to talk to the owner, that's good. Save some of this stuff from getting destroyed if you can, and post pics of what you find.
thats crazy that someone else had recently posted about the same cars. i was told that until 2 months ago when the city cleared the right of way you could not see the cars. i had already drove by them twice that day before finaly noticing them.
I'm the other poster. That is a crazy conincidence, both posts this close together. I've seen those cars sitting there in the same place for over 20 years. In the winter when the feaves fall and everything dies, you can see some of them, but when everything was cleared recently it revealed a lot more. Back when I first saw them there was not any overgrowth around them, just green grass and the building that has burned down. In the past everyone I talked to told me the guy was not interested in selling anything and didn't want to talk to anyone. Sounds like he is getting more lenient in his older age. That's cool. Congrats on getting in touch with him and having a positive outcome. This guy probably has some cool stories to tell.
Awesome! Thesres nothing I love more than someone finding an old custom in the scrap heap! It makes this thread totally " ON TOPIC" ! Thanks so much! You made my day!
hmm, it looks like goin toward the houston area, juding by the trees and overgrowth of moss and stuff, kinda swampy looking land id say, cuz that sure aint south or west TEXAS!!!
