Alright folks. I need an id on a shifter I pulled out of the dump today. Has a chrome handle with no lettering on it. It has two pins that hold the handle to the mechinism instead of bolts. The part number is 0147 on the shifter and the handle number looks like 1931. No bolts for shift range adjustment and it has the backup light switch mount on it. no pics. Any ideas?

Yeah, my idea is that a picture would really help.

The mounting plate bolt holes look like the pattern on a A833 Mopar trans.

With no bolts to hold the shift handle in and the built in bracket, it looks like one of the oem shifters that Hurst used to sell the manufactures back in the 60's and 70's.

So I have had a couple of people tell me it for an 883 dodge. Any reason for it not to be? Does the number 9830431V stamped on the side denote the part number? The hurst website is useless unless you want a new shifter.

the a833four speed has the backup switch in the transmission not on the shifter.

The bracket is what denotes what it fits,,and yes that is a 4 speed for a certain car,,not an after market Hurst Shifter,,,I would say its an A body shifter
