Save me some money, tell me why it won't work Explorer rotors on 58 F100 spindles

They both use the same inner and outer wheel bearings, what am I overlooking? The caliper mounting bracket shouldn't be a problem. Remove the 58 hub, install the Explorer hub/rotor, bolt on a caliper bracket and caliper. Done. Now, it's up to you to steal my thunder.

If the explorers races are too far apart just turn em yer self.

Cause Ford Explorer parts aren't traditional.

Someone would have said it eventually.....(and I'm just joking around). And I'll second bearing race distance.

Yeah, I figured it was only a matter of time before someone brought that up, but upgrading brakes is traditional.

The F100 bearings are further apart. You need a spacer behind the rear bearing, about 3/8" so make the outside of it the same diameter as the Explorer seal, and you can use that too. As I recall, a Ford 9" axle bearing retainer sleeve is the right thickness, and ID, and the OD is close, if not the same size.

Not to sound stupid, but what does this retainer sleeve look like? Have you done this before?

Is it the retainer towards the upper left corner?

Yes, I have done it. The retainer is the front piece in the picture.

Did you buy, scavenge, or make the caliper brackets? What parts did you use?

I used a bolt on bracket from a 70s Ford, and fabricated a mount for that to the F100 spindle out of 3/8" plate and a hardware store coupler nut.

Is that the actual retainer in the picture? Or is that just an example of what I want to look for?
