Hello all, Im kind new here, I have been lurking for a while. Anyway, I have been on the lookout for a solid model A sedan and found what i thought was a solid platform. But the owner tells me it a 26 Hudson Es*** sedan. its pretty complete except, no doors (anyone know where those can be located? searched fleebay already). Is this a good platform to start with and do you know if parts are interchangeable with the current aftermarket parts that are available for the ford cars.? I know I am asking some pretty broad questions so bear with me, all of my research has been Ford based not Hudson. thanks
Howdy from another Es*** owner. No, body parts are not interchangeable between Es*** and Fords or anyone else that I know of. Parts are out there ... kind of. Hope you know how to weld and get crafty at fabricating. Finding doors shouldn't be too hard. Go to cl***ic car forums, they have a VERY active Hudson, Es***, Terraplane group who can answer a lot of questions. You got pics? DO an introduction. Here's the link to the HET forum http://www.cl***iccar.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=13
Welcome Robert...but your supposed to do an intro in the intro section above the main board. Nobody reads them but its recommended anyway. Es*** isn't something I'm familiar with BUT I've always read that they are a very well build car (body structure anyway...) for their time. I'm doubtful Ford parts will just bolt up, but we build Hot Rods so "bolt up" can be a broad term if you don't mind some adapting. There ARE some guys here doing Es*** builds, so doing a search on the main board, as ****gy so bluntly suggested, would be a great idea! I'm thinking that Es*** doors might not be such a hard thing to find. Check out our Cl***ified section too. Never know what might turnip..... Have fun and remember the HAMB can be a bit "in your face". Roll with it.....
Thanks guys, i have been doing searches and have come up with a few answerers. I think i was in a rush when asking about the hudson, because i haven't decided to buy the car yet, you know, when the deals right there but your unsure. Any way thanks for your input and i will post pics soon.
Welcome to the HAMB, Robert. I have a '27 Es*** pickup. Can you get some pics of the car you're looking at to share with us?
