Here are two panels out of four that I did. For some reason the other two not shown came out terrible in the pictures, all fuzzy, who knows. Anyway, here are the two, and the red on the black panel came out weird also???????

  28. I don't know exactly how to classify this piece:it is DEFINITELY art but not aoutomotive related unless you count the fact that I found it coming home from a car show! [IMG]
I don't even know what it is or where it came from so I figured to post it on the art show in the hope that someone from somewhere in the world can identify it and/or tell me what it says on it.
The dimensions are approx.19" long by 12" wide(at the widest point). It is made of wood and covered with an incredible amount of inlaid veneers in various colors and grains(also some other material but I don't think plastic)in an extremely complex geometric design. At either end is an inlay with some letters(cyphers)in what could be either Arabic or Cyrillic.I don't think it's Hebrew but I could be wrong. It's hard to see but the border designs appear to be INDIVIDUAL pieces of TINY wood alternating in natural and black coloring approx.1/32nd by 1/4 inch! There are literally hundreds of them!
There is a signature on the back in ink but I cannot make out the name.
The reason I think it might be Cyrillic is the person I bought it from purchased it from a man I know only as Mikhail.I am going to ask him tomorrow but I thought I'd post a pic or two and see if anyone knew what it was or what it says.Whatever it is,it's an incredible piece of artwork and I only paid $9.56 for it!Don't ask about the price!
