speedway VS limeworks steering column ?s

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by tomcantdoit, Jun 19, 2009.

  1. Join the HAMB Alliance!!

  2. printed out the form and gonna go get a money order this weekend:D

  3. I am using a Grant quick release hub that I got from Summit Racing. C9 recommended it. I don't know how you can have a functioning steering wheel horn ****on with a quick release hub.

  4. the quick release was just an idea, i think i am going with the limeworks, i really like the way the column and drop looked in the new streetrodder.

I have Limeworks in my '29AA last four years. Fit and finish is great, along with operation.

Well what can I say , I try to be true to the Hot Rod spirit, yes our stuff costs more , the overhead in Ca is more than in China I'm sure , that being said I keep my profit to a minimum & my standards to a maximum We are all Hot Rodders at LimeWorks & I believe it shows in our products. Back to case in point, we make a QR column but without a horn as the contact would be more difficult to achieve. The Hot Rod column in 32" length would work with our sprint car wheel in a Model A . If you use a 32 dash then you have the choice of 32 drops, usually the 4" works best.See on line or our free Catalog for fitting directions.

Thanks for the support , I'm an alliance vendor too , or give Eric at Riley's a call , he's a great guy running a cool operation.

Off to LARS in my roadster now :)

Happy Dad's Day for tomorrow fellas.

Steve and the Boys are "PURE FIRST CL***". Steve's background is many years in the aviation engineering field prior to operation and ownership of Limeworks. I own 3 of his columns and they are flawless.
Why buy a knock off that the design appears to be robbed from Limeworks?
To me it makes a statement everytime I spend a dollar in this industry, be it for a used part or a new production item, thus I want to make the correct choice each time and when it can down to doing business with Steve or Speedy Bill I looked at the 97 situation and all of the Shady **** going on.
Enough said....Speedways m*** mailings of catalogs have been getting marked return to sender.

FWIW...I have a speedway column in my tudor and i hate it! the hub is very loose fitting which leaves some play in the steering wheel. i'm sorry i didn't buy a limeworks the first time. i'll be swapping it out as soon as i get some extra dough.

I'll work out how many we have left & do a run of those , US made :) HAMB only price .

Don't buy anything form Speedway, he copies everything and has cheap **** made overseas without any compensation for the original inventor. In addition to Steve he has ****ed over Verne Tardel and the guys from the Hot Rod Works in Idaho.

    That place ****s big time.

Buy from Limeworks. Superior parts, and they are living the American Dream, not the American Corporate pawn some China on you story.

Plus they have a cool catalog that my kids read and use as part of their hot rod education. :)

OK after doing an inventory check we can build 34 Hot Rod columns in plain stainless steel with mild steel tops splined at the bottom with tig welded tops , no horn for $125 HAMB only price extra $20 for polished mast & polished SS top .Our design hides the bearing in the counter-bored hub so no rusty ring ;) .We can do any length up to 36" at no extra cost , most popular are 32" & 34" . Oh & they are Made in USA :) email if we can help. limeworksspeedshop@msn.com

    Cheers
